Purpose

What we are.

Palash is built as an execution-oriented, credible and scalable delivery partner.

At Palash, our purpose is to create greener, healthier and more sustainable spaces through thoughtful environmental solutions. We combine scientific expertise, responsible planning and a deep understanding of nature to deliver meaningful plantation, landscaping and ecological development projects.

Our aim is to be a trusted implementation partner for regenerative and sustainable environmental solutions — from land and plantations to waste.

Philosophy

ROOTS — the Palash philosophy.

Five pillars run through everything we deliver. They reflect what we do on the ground: work from the roots up, restoring land and resource systems at their source rather than treating surface symptoms.

R

Regenerative Focus

A direct focus on restoring land and resource systems that communities, industries and institutions depend on.

O

On-Ground Execution

The on-ground capability to plan, build and maintain environmental infrastructure at scale — not just advise on it.

O

Outcome Ownership

Accountable, verified, measurable results that can be tracked and reported to stakeholders and funding partners.

T

Technical Expertise

Scientific and engineering depth across plantation science and waste engineering.

S

Scalable Solutions

Solutions designed to grow from a single site to programme scale, across geographies and stakeholder types.

Our story

How Palash began.

Palash was born from a bond that began with a shared purpose — to create a greener, healthier and more sustainable Punjab.

01
September 2018

A shared purpose brings two people together

Rajneesh and Arshinder first met while working together at the same organisation. Rajneesh was leading environmental initiatives focused on plantation and waste management. With a research background and a PhD in Biotechnology from Thapar, he brought scientific rigour, curiosity and a deep understanding of environmental solutions. Around the same time, Arshinder joined as a Village Lead, working on rural well-being across youth and child development, health and hygiene, financial empowerment, sustainability and community welfare — identifying social challenges, conducting research, developing concepts aligned with government schemes, engaging communities, mobilising resources and taking ideas from paper to the ground.

02
2018 – 2021

Complementary strengths, 1,200+ villages

Their strengths complemented each other. One brought the science and environmental expertise; the other brought community understanding, grassroots engagement and implementation experience. Together, they took plantation and solid waste management initiatives to 1,200+ villages across Punjab. But the work created something beyond projects — a lasting bond.

03
2021 – 2026

Scale across Punjab

Even after their professional paths evolved, they remained connected. Rajneesh continued with the organisation and took the environmental initiatives to an even larger scale — building a strong team of 60+ professionals, mobilising thousands of Changemakers, reaching 2,500+ villages, creating 2,000 mini forests and activating 500 solid waste management systems across Punjab.

04
June 2026

Palash begins

Rajneesh decided to step out and embark on a new journey — building something of his own, focused entirely on environmental solutions. Arshinder joined him — leaving his role serving the Punjab Government as CEO of Rangla Punjab Society — to turn years of shared experience, learning and conviction into an independent environmental venture.

Palash is not simply a business born out of an idea. It is the coming together of two complementary journeys, nearly eight years of shared learning, thousands of conversations, and a belief that meaningful environmental change happens when science meets communities, ideas meet execution, and sustainability meets scale.

Today, Palash carries forward that journey — with a vision to create practical, scalable and lasting solutions for a greener Punjab and a healthier planet.

Leadership

Founders who have delivered at scale.

Palash is led by people who have delivered environmental work in the field — pairing scientific rigour with grassroots implementation.

Dr. Rajneesh Kumar

Co-Founder | Palash Environment Solutions

Building environmental solutions that work at the scale of communities.

Dr. Rajneesh Kumar brings over a decade of experience in designing and implementing large-scale environmental and rural development programmes across Punjab.

His work has focused on translating environmental objectives into practical, community-led interventions that can be implemented and sustained at scale. Through previous leadership roles with social development organisations, he has contributed to initiatives spanning afforestation, biodiversity conservation, community-based nurseries, rural waste management, livelihood generation and youth engagement.

His experience includes supporting the plantation of over 4.5 million native trees, establishing community nurseries cultivating more than 100 native tree species, activating 500+ waste management units, and engaging communities across 2,000+ villages. His work has also helped create employment opportunities for 22,500 people through convergence with government rural employment programmes.

At Palash Environment Solutions, Dr. Rajneesh brings together scientific planning, programme implementation and deep community engagement to develop environmental solutions that are practical, scalable and built for long-term impact. He strongly believes that lasting environmental change can only be achieved when communities become active partners in the solution.

How the team is built.

Behind the founders sits in-house technical depth across two disciplines — backed by the on-ground teams that execute and maintain every project.

01

Plantation science

Plantation specialists and agronomists focused on native tree conservation for soil rejuvenation, species selection and long-term survival.

02

Waste engineering

Engineers who build decentralised waste management models, focusing on segregation, processing and recycling systems.

03

On-ground teams

Trained field teams and supervisors who execute and maintain work at site level.

Approach

How every engagement runs.

A simple, repeatable way of working — so outcomes are designed, delivered and sustained, not just started.

Step 01

Assess

We study the site — soil, waste streams and stakeholder needs — before committing to a design.

Work with an execution partner.

Tell us the outcome you need on land or waste — we will bring the plan, the team and the follow-through.
